Hello all, by the time you are reading this, I have less than one week before I get on a plane and travel over 5,000 miles away from home. At this point, I am beginning to get nervous about all the last minute details to complete in and out of the country. I also should probably consider beginning to actually pack and put my belongings in my bags.
Earlier this week, I started to make a packing list. A packing list is always something quite difficult for me, as I struggle to comprehend that I will no longer have easy access to all my belongings. I begin to wonder what I really need, what I may be able to purchase, and I try to think of all those little things I may forget. I straight up HATE packing, it brings me so much anxiety and frankly I will probably wait until Friday to start packing and finish Saturday right before I leave to head to Chicago. Packing is absolutely awful to me and it is something I am not looking forward to, and I will use every excuse to procrastinate doing it.
Along with packing, I have begun to sort my emails, and various documents I will need for traveling. Doing this has brought me to a realization of everything I will need to complete from abroad on my computer. These tasks include applying for scholarships, applying for the School of Education at ISU, registering for fall classes, and much more. If I was taking classes at ISU this semester, these tasks would seem less intimidating but being disconnected from my advisor and peers makes it more daunting. To prepare for leaving I have created various To-Do lists along with lots of reminders in my planner and phone calendar.
So for now, I need to begin on my various To-Do Lists.
- With Love, Cambrie
